The
Wilton Y Wahoos were founded in 1972 as an age group program and
rapidly developed into a regional contender. In 1977, the team adopted the name Wahoos, the
fastest game fish in the ocean, and the legacy of achievement on a
national and international level began.
Since its inception, our team has achieved a reputation for
excellence recognized across the United States. The Wahoos are a
Bronze level member of USA Swimming and also a member of
Connecticut Swimming, Inc. All of our coaches are members of the
American Swim Coaches Association and have access to the most
comprehensive training and certification programs for youth
coaches.
The
Wahoos Swim Team consists of swimmers of all ages and levels of
ability, from beginners through Olympic competitors. The program is
structured to provide careful development and steady progression
through the stages of competitive swimming. Our team is comprised
of athletes and their families from communities throughout
Connecticut. We have a strong reputation for
running quality swim meets for all levels of swimmers. This is mainly due to our excellent coaching staff
and the support of our active Parent Association.
The Wahoos are constantly growing and we pride ourselves
on developing our young swimmers into becoming well rounded
competitive athletes. We look forward
to meeting you and please feel free to ask another member or coach
any question you may have.
