Hello all, after three days at the 2008 Long Course Y Nationals the Wahoos are swimming strong. The team is in 7th place combined out of 150 teams. We had an amazing finals on Thursday night as all but one swim was a best time. Friday morning prelims were awesome and for the first time in several years, all 10 relays scored in the meet. You can see all the results on the Y National Web site at www.ymcaswimminganddiving.org You can also see video on the Flo Swimming web site at www.floswimming.com I am very proud of each and every Wahoo we have at the meet. You should all be proud of our team as they have represented the Wahoos with pride, respect and poise. Everyone who has ever been a Wahoo would be very proud of what this team had done this week both in and out of the water.

I would also like to thank all the parents that helped time and work the meet. I have received rave reviews from the National Meet Committee for your efforts.

We have one more session left which begins at 6pm tonight. We have 4 relays and KC Moss's 100 breaststroke. Wish us well. We will be leaving on Saturday morning at 9:30 and hope to be at the Wilton Y by 4PM. Please enjoy the pictures I have included in this report. See Pictures Here... Jeff Allen

This year we have been asked to supply workers for LC Y Nationals. They are in need Officials, Timers and Poster/runners. If any of you are interested in officiating, you would need to attend a YMCA Officials class on Monday afternoon. We have been asked to supply 3 workers per session. Anyone interested in working, please email me as soon as possible with you availability (this includes final sessions). There is a form that needs to be filled out and submitted online for each worker which is due by Friday. If you could, please let me know ASAP so I can get these forms in. Thanks for all of your help with this, LeAnn email: wywahoos@msn.com

Work Assignments for Age Group Championships are now on line. Please sign up to volunteer. This is your last chance to earn credits. In order to simplify finding workers for Finals we are asking those who think their child will make Finals to please consider timing; if it turns out your swimmer won’t be at finals you can then cancel your timing job without any penalty.

On-line donations can now be made for the Wahoo Swim Across the Sound Relay team. Please consider donating so the Wahoo relay can make the amount they need to raise for the swim. Thank you for any donations!

Attention all PARENTS!! Whether you've been a Wahoo for 15 minutes or 15 years, it’s always helpful to share experiences in and out of the water to help our kids continually prepare for what comes next… It’s important to share what our team was in the past, what it is today, and ask for your help in shaping what it will be in the future! Please join us for a short parents meeting during Senior Qualifier Warm-ups on Friday, June 20th at 5:30 at the Pond Pavilion. Even if your kids are not swimming, we encourage everyone to come to join with some of the "experienced" parents in a discussion that we hope will answer any and all questions about the Wahoos and what it means to us to be Wahoo Parents.

We will be selling ads for the LC Meet Programs again this season. Anyone interested may download the contracts to get all the directions. The first deadline is May 16. We also encourage families to purchase ads. You can sell ads to grandparents, aunts and uncles, good neighbors and friends. All of the swimmers would enjoy seeing their photo and name in print in our Meet Programs. This is credited to your overall fund raising effort for SC and LC 2008. All sales info can be placed in the mail slot of Lauri Harder. You can contact Lauri with any questions at harders@optonline.net

New scratch meet sign-up procedure for SuperMeets - The coaches will automatically enter all swimmers in a meet unless they have scratched from the meet by signing up on SuperMeets by the lock date. You will only sign-up/scratch from a meet on SuperMeets if you are NOT ATTENDING the meet. Or if you wish to NOT ATTEND one day of the meet, sign-up with these instructions for the coach.

This new scratch procedure is in effect for all meets listed except the 6/14-6/15 CAMEL meet already listed with Senior 1 & 2 sign-ups entered. Remember, to review the lock date because if you do not sign-up to scratch by this date to NOT ATTEND a meet, you will automatically be signed up for the meet and charged the USS fees.

Revised results from the WYW 9/U Meet are available on Meet Results

Hello Wahoos, I am sorry to say that we did not get into the Memorial Day Meet at Rutgers. With it being an Olympic year, the meet was over subscribed. New Jersey had two entry deadlines, one for instate teams and one for out of state teams. Almost all of the meet was filled with New Jersey Teams. Our hope is that we will be able to attend next year. With that being said, we will be hosting two half day meets on Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend. The 13/Overs will be on Saturday and the 12/Unders will be on Sunday. Saturday will be done no later than 1PM. and Sunday no later then Noon. We will also be hosting a cook out for the teams attending right after each session. Anyone with questions please contact Jeff.

Meet Sign-Up is now available on SuperMeets for LC Age Group Qualifer - 6/14-6/15 for Senior 1 & 2 Please sign-up promptly. Sign-Up deadline is next Monday, April 28.

Please take note: They will be working at the YMCA entrance this week 4/21 - 4/25 on Rt 7. There will be a police officer stationed there to direct and restrict the traffic flow.
